We all experience stress — before exams, at work, in relationships, or when we feel we don’t fully belong. But what actually happens inside our body and mind when stress takes over? And when does it stop being helpful and start becoming harmful?

Join our webinar to uncover the science behind stress and understand how it shapes our physical health, mental well-being, and everyday decisions. We will explore where stress comes from, how it affects the brain and body, and why prolonged exposure can quietly undermine our quality of life.

A special focus will be placed on stress caused by the fear of rejection — whether related to sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or other aspects of personal identity. Living with the pressure of not being accepted can significantly increase emotional burden and impact confidence, relationships, and social integration.

We will also address the link between chronic stress, burnout syndrome, and other mental health challenges, highlighting why early awareness and open conversation are crucial.

This 45-minute session, including 15 minutes of open discussion, creates a safe and inclusive space to reflect, ask questions, and gain practical, science-based insights. The webinar will be led by team member and project coordinator and ESN member, who spend a long time in scientific field,Lenka Nedvědová, will guide participants through the topic and facilitate discussion.

Taking place in the post-exam period — a time when stress levels are often heightened by both external pressures and internal expectations — this session offers timely support and tools to better understand and manage stress in a healthier way.

Join us to better understand stress, its impact, and why awareness matters for individual and collective well-being.
